Science Fair - Magnets

The Eastside Explorers hosted a Science Fair this evening. Micah selected to do a project about magnets (he got a nice set of magnets from G&G Rich for Christmas). Question: *will a larger magnet be able to lift a paperclip from a higher distance from the floor? He tested 3 different sized magnets and measured their distances of when they first attracted the paperclip. It was neat to go through the official process of a scientific experiment. My favorite part, in preparing, was watching Micah draw his hypothesis and explain it. Matt and I guided a lot of the organization of the presentation board, but Micah was beside us the whole time, cutting the paper, writing the headings and getting an idea of how to write up what we did.
Tonight he seemed confident and excited to share/explain to others about his project and answer their questions. He enjoyed seeing what other kids had chosen to do for their experiments. A special thanks to Jim & Kelli Taggart for stopping by and supporting him tonight. :)
