Even though the Armor of God was a super study, it was also heavy/meaty. Micah enjoyed catapulting, using the vocabulary word 'caltrops' and building a castle. He's very interested in that stuff. We had amazing books to read (our favorite was The Paper Princess) and they opened up great conversations of character and the emotions we felt in reading the books. We even used a Fact Finders book as our 'textual information'.
Studying Clifford is so light and silly in comparison. Our stories are simple, yet we see Clifford's heart and how he tries so hard. We can relate to his simple mistakes that mean well and the expression of humility that he shows.
But even in their differences our scriptures have pulled them together. Both relate to how we should dress ourselves everyday. Ephesians 6:10-18 talks about our Armor ... helmet of Salvation, breastplate of righteousness, sword of the Spirit, belt of truth, shield of faith and shoes of peace. Colossians 3:12 talks about our clothing ... clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Sounds a lot like Clifford doesn't it?
