Hello, Red Fox (a favorite at home) we knew a bit about complementary/contrasting colors. A couple weeks ago we learned that black is the absence of colors and white is all colors together. We spent two days this week experimenting with these two colors. We made spinners that are black and white, but when spinning they show colors - an optical illusion. We looked up 'color' in the encyclopedia (yes, the book) and learned about: hues, tints, shades and tones. We got out the paints, Micah and Lilly each

selected 3 colors (their hues) and we added black (to shade) and white (to tint) each color. Next time we're at Home Depot or Lowes we'll definitely spend a few minutes in front of the paint samples.
