Monday April 19th begins our next study "EARTH DAY". On Thursday 4/22/10 people will be celebrating the 40th year of this annual event. This brings back some fun memories teaching 6th grade at Deputy Elementary (IN). My class would partner with the kindergarten classroom (which my best friend was teaching) and we did amazing projects together. My favorites: making recycled paper, creating a dynamic play of The Great Kapok Tree, planting a new tree, and planting lots of flowers around the school yard. I plan on sharing and re-creating some of these Earth Day activities with my kids.

Earth Day study begins!
